On Women's Entrepreneurship Day, Indian content creators talk about business as they share their journey of creating their brands while motivating upcoming business women.
Technically every day is a day to celebrate and appreciate all the wonderful women who are doing their best to take their business ahead. But we have Women's Entrepreneurship Day dedicated to discussing and talking about work done by incredible women dominating the world of business. Starting a business might not be tough, but keeping them running and creating a successful brand out of it is. With new ventures and doors opening for women, there have been many who have managed to shape an entire empire in what still seems like a very male-dominated sector. India for sure has been able to empower small businesses and give women the opportunity to stand on their own feet, create something of their own and use their due diligence to add to the value of our economy. Today, little girls around the world have women entrepreneurs to look up to, study and learn from since they've paved a path for them to follow.
On Women's Entrepreneurship Day, Indian content creators, Himadri Patel (DRI by HIMADRI), Yashi Tank (Suyash Fashion)and Shivani Kapila (LITTLEGLOVE) talk about business and the things they learnt along the way.

As a creator and entrepreneur, what were the challenges no one prepared you for?
Honestly, building a business and being a creator aren’t very different. I started from scratch when I started my content creation journey with no knowledge of how things are supposed to be done just like when I started DRI by HIMADRI.
Starting a business in the small town of Uttarakhand, Dehradun comes with its own challenges, lack of skilled candidates, lack of resources and even managing finances for a brand that is fully self-funded. Even getting the smallest of things done, took months for it to complete. Hence, it took us more than a year to build the brand.
How do you persevere through tough times?
I just like to surround myself with people I love and I know will give me genuine advice. My family, friends and the community I have built on my social media platforms are my support system. On days when I feel it’s too much to take in, just a small break really refreshes my mind.
What was that one new thing you learned after becoming an entrepreneur?
Every new challenge comes with new learning.
One piece of advice you have for upcoming businesswomen.
Don’t let anyone in this world tell you “what you can do, and what you cannot”. Listen to your heart, you are so much more powerful than you think. GO FOR IT! Don’t wait for the right opportunity.
Yashi Tank- Digital Content Creator and Entrepreneur
As a creator and entrepreneur, what were the challenges no one prepared you for?
It is challenging to handle both at once; you cannot work on social media on days when you are focusing on the brand. You must completely concentrate on both, the brand and your social media, especially if you are a content creator.
How do you persevere through tough times?
The key is to assign tasks to others. There is a lot that goes into developing content for your page and for the brand, so having a staff you can rely on is essential if you want to develop a successful online presence. Balancing becomes exceedingly challenging if you try to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders.
What was that one new thing you learned after becoming an entrepreneur?
At first, I had no idea how advertisements or even sponsored content works. Hence it's safe to say that I have learned a lot. Particularly the technical aspects, such as finance and taxes, that go into developing your brand.
One piece of advice you have for upcoming businesswomen.
I feel the examination of my audience is one of the key strategies that has helped me advance. Understanding the needs of your audience is crucial for anyone aspiring to be a content provider. Throughout it, all, remember to depict your company or product in the most genuine and organic way possible.
Shivani Kapila- Digital Content Creator and Entrepreneur
As a creator and entrepreneur, what were the challenges no one prepared you for?
Rome wasn’t built in a day, it took me three years to establish, and every moment was a challenge cracking more opportunities!
Changing my multinational corporate career to become a housewife who creates videos (was a social challenge) that required my mental stability to overcome, and understanding "social - media" was a professional challenge that needed my understanding. Being aware and, more importantly, balancing my family, profession, and society as a married woman kept me on my toes. But the more I faced them, the stronger I got.
How do you persevere through tough times?
The trick is to enjoy your work! Since for the first time I was doing something I was passionate about, I still enjoyed the small success and moments! All I knew was to keep going and then not to be a typical Indian but “maa ka saath aur aashirwad (as she was my partner on the internet)“ brought that unlimited zeal and enthusiasm.
What was that one new thing you learned after becoming an entrepreneur?
Risk management! As an employee working for Google, I had never calculated risk and projection of profits! These bookish words now started playing an important role in my journey! I utilised my understanding of my MBA degree and implemented it in my business module
One piece of advice you have for upcoming businesswomen.
Hey, girl! Just keep going! You're doing great, but if you're not consistent, you're missing out on opportunities to succeed. Once virtual, "LITTLEGLOVE," my own brand, is now a reality.
Here's hoping we get to see these creators become successful in their respective ventures! Happy Women's Entrepreneurship Day
