10 reasons why my life feels empty without Jungkook since he's in the military!

2024 has been an absolute bore without Jungkook’s presence and there’s so much about him that I cannot stop thinking about on a daily basis. Here’s what the inside of my head looks like every time I miss him!

From having a pitch perfect voice to always bringing his A game even for the toughest of dance routines, there’s truly no one like Jungkook of BTS! But there’s so much more to him than just being a K-Pop idol. In a world where we constantly feel insecure around men for various reasons, he showed us what our ideal type, what having standards for ourselves can look like. Just like for many other Armys from around the world, he has often proved to be a safe space for me as well. He's a person who I can go to when everything else feels wrong, who will always have my back. But the weird part is, I’ve never even met him! How is it even humanly possible to feel such a strong connection with someone who technically does not know about my existence? How can he give so much of himself to the world without never getting tired? This is one of the major reasons why he is so loved by his fans worldwide. It is one thing to act a certain way in front of the camera, but here's the thing - fans can spot genuineness and when someone’s being fake from a mile away and with Jungkook it has always felt raw and authentic. It's simply because he wears his heart on his sleeve. He says what he feels like and he probably has the most honest relationship with his fans. 

Being a happy-go-lucky person by nature really helps because he is the reason behind a lot of people’s smiles, the reason to go back home after a long day’s work and the reason to keep going on. Seeing him push beyond his abilities and always give his 100% percent in everything he does only encourages me to do my best in every aspect of my life as well. Now that it's been 9 months since he left for the military, there has seldom been times where I have missed him beyond words can express. On such days, I do find solace in his music, his voice and what he is trying to tell us through his lyrics but on his birthday of all days, I can’t help but feel this emotion on a much more elevated level.

His music and phenomenal dancing skills

His music can switch my bad days into the absolute best and I often find peace in his voice when I am at a crossroads in life. And ofcourse it gives me so much joy when I watch his music videos where he aces the most complicated of choreographies. He simply makes it look so effortless and super cool that it makes me want to put on my dancing shoes and give it a try as well!

His Weverse lives during random hours of the day

His lives were my safe space. It felt like I was video calling a friend at the end of the day. Sometimes he sang songs for me, sometimes he cooked, sometimes he worked out, sometimes he had a heart to heart and sometimes he simply just stayed silent. This made me feel closer to him.

His infectious smile

He has the most precious smile ever, I mean how can someone not melt over this?

His words of wisdom that always motivate me to do better

I remember during one of his lives, he randomly just said “You’re the main character of your life, understood?” Somehow at that point, that is exactly what I wanted to hear. Another thing that he said which really stuck with me was, “In life you need to have three things - understanding, consideration and respect." Since then, I feel like every time I am about to act in a rash manner, I think of what he said. What I love about this is that he doesn’t try too hard to sound intellectual, he is simply just sharing the way he goes about with his life.

His fashion choices that we all love discussing 

If there had to be a lookbook on “boyfriend aesthetics”, Jungkook would be it. He can look handsome even in an oversized Balenciaga jeans paired with a Supreme beanie and T-shirt, but he can also go extremely glam in his music videos with a Dolce and Gabbana tuxedo. He knows how to balance the best of both worlds pretty well and I miss seeing new ensembles put together by him. 

His life hacks

Be it his unique way of making ‘makguksu’ or taping his phone together when it's broken, there are a lot of humorous life hacks that Armys have learnt from Jungkook and it’s something only we’d understand.

His habit of imitating others

Jungkook is good at a lot of things but imitation is one of his most underrated talents in my opinion and that’s simply because whenever he has imitated someone, it was as a joke so it comes off as something frivolous. While it always makes me laugh, I also feel the imitations that he does are rather uncanny and we need more of it!

His passion for food

This has to be my favorite quality of his. He lives to eat till his heart’s desire every single day. I find it so wholesome when he makes that angry face when he loves the food he is eating or the little dance that he does. His love for food has also transcended into cooking and the rest of the world is now discussing his recipes and making social media content on it which I love.

Seeing him perform on stage

Jungkook was born to perform. He owns the stage in a way where you cannot look at anyone else but him. While I have never had the opportunity to see him perform in real life, from whatever I have watched on-screen, I can clearly tell how much of a perfectionist he is when it comes to giving his audience the best performance ever. I hope that when he comes back in 2025, I get to experience his magic on stage as well.
