These 6 friends will always have a special place in our hearts. Here's what we love about each of them.
For most of us, F.R.I.E.N.D.S is not just a show. Every character adds a different flavor to this iconic series, every scene and every episode is worth rewatching a zillion times. Not because it was funny or entertaining, but because that's the kind of friendship we wanted for ourselves where you laugh, talk, hang out and share your problems. No wonder the show left a mark on us and made all of us fall in love with each character.
In every show or movie, there is at least one character which we like the most but this one show makes it difficult for us to choose our favorite amongst all the others. Every character from F.R.I.E.N.D.S. has something to teach us. But, what do we love about them the most?
Grab a bowl of popcorn and re-watch all the seasons before watching the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. reunion this week.
Rachel Green
"You know what? I just shouldn't be allowed to make decisions anymore." Right from the first episode, Rachel left an impact on us. From being a rich and spoiled girl she came such a long way. She is portrayed as a strong and empowering woman. In the first episode, we saw how she left her fiancé at the altar to pursue a happier life that showed how much courage she had. While she took time to figure out her career, she never lost motivation and ended up choosing something she really likes and is also good at. Also, her outfits are to die for, right? A single mother who doesn't necessarily have it easy in life but does not lose hope, Jennifer Aniston aka Rachel Green definitely sets a strong example for all the women out there.
Ross Geller
"Unagi". Ross Geller, a college professor with a Ph.D. in Paleontology is very proud of his intelligence and is hungry to learn. Really, his quest for knowledge just never ends. Ross is a grammar nazi and a total nerd, seriously, he doesn't leave out a single opportunity to correct his friends. He fell in love with Rachel since they were 15 and knew that they were meant to be. His love for her was such that he never let any of their fights or arguments come in between their friendship after they parted ways. He taught us that, it's okay to be different from others, but you still deserve to be loved.
Monica Geller
"I know"! Courteney Cox aka Monica Geller has her own share of quirks right from the first episode. She is a struggling chef who eventually made it big. Monica needs things clean but 'Monica clean'. Leave it to Monica Geller to say the wisest things like, "Why don't you stop worrying about sounding smart and just be yourself." Also known for her cooking and cleaning skills, along with an annoying trait of wanting everything to be perfect. We see her grow into a wonderful person. She takes care of everyone while also prioritizing herself and we love that about Monica Geller. She is the one who binds the group together and makes it a family.
Chandler Bing
Phoebe Buffay
Remember the song, "Smelly cat, smelly cat, what are they feeding you? "How can we not? It's the most unique part of the whole show; it's funny and leaves us in splits in the first line itself. Phoebe is the weirdest character on the show. A freelance therapist and a folk singer, she unabashedly does everything whether it's the choices she makes or the person she chooses to marry. Phoebe is an absolute badass and finds family in the people around her. At a very young age, her father leaves their family and her mother commits suicide and she and her twin sister go separate ways. Ever since she lives alone. Phoebe made us fall in love with her character so much that we were crying with her when she had to give up her babies and when she was getting married to Mike and she said, "When I was growing up, I didn't have a normal mom and dad or a regular family like everybody else, and I always knew that something was missing. But, now I'm standing here today, knowing that I have everything I'm ever gonna need. You are my family".
Joey Tribbiani
"How you doin'?" is one of Joey's most famous dialogues. Joey happens to be a struggling actor who tries to achieves everything he wants. He falls head over heels for Rachel but stops himself from pursuing this because of his friendship with Ross. Although we see them dating a bit towards the end, they soon realize that they're way too scared to give up on the friendship they share. Every time we call for two pizzas, we think of Joey, because how can you not think of him when you call his friends?
