Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s biopic titled, ‘PM Narendra Modi' (duh) has released today - only a day after BJP’s win. The film, starring Vivek Oberoi in the lead, has been in the news for a while now. The latest reason being Vivek’s controversial tweet about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. But we’re not going to talk about that for now because Vivek’s sense of humour or lack thereof has nothing to do with the film. The biopic has been receiving a strong backlash from the film critics for the hagiographic treatment of the subject throughout its runtime.
The film is being labelled as a chest-thumping portrayal of the political party’s win and beginning of their second tenure. If reports are to be believed, the film doesn’t stick to facts. in fact, it couldn’t be further from them for most parts. While the film fails to impress the followers of authentic cinema, it has certainly managed to get the PM’s followers chanting his name in glory.
Before you scroll down and see some witty reactions of netizens, let us tell you, the film can have only two effects on you - leave you idolising the ‘oh-so-perfect’ character you see on screen or leave you in complete disbelief with the exploitation of creative liberties taken by its makers.
Take a look:
Vivek Oberoi has advised Sonam Kapoor to stop overacting in films.

Excellent Performance by @vivekoberoi after Krissh but was disappointed by the "whitewash" nature of this TIDEography!

I suggest - withdraw the release of the #PMNarendraModi movie and release it in 2024.

Narendra Modi Biopic has got really bad reviews. But no worries. Vivek Oberoi can get away by blaming Nehru for his bad performance.#narendramodibiopic
