Varisu starring Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna released on January 11 and here are the Janta’s reviews on the film!
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Varisu is a story that revolves around family, succession and lots of drama that comes with it. The movie begins with Rajendran (Sarath Kumar), a business tycoon desperate to find the right successor so he constantly pits his sons against each other to test them. While his first two sons, Jai (Srikanth) and Ajay (Shaam), have an eye on the chairman's seat and blindly act out their father's whims and fancies, the third son, Vijay (Vijay) has a difference of opinion with his methods and chooses to stay away.
But just when Rajendran learns that he is soon going to die because of a terminal illness, he gets to see his sons for who they really are, and ends up making Vijay his successor, which results in the other two going feral and joining hands with his bitter rival Jayaprakash (Prakash Raj). Whether Vijay is able to stay true to his father’s name after his demise is what the movie is all about. Rashmika Mandanna plays Vijay's love interest in the film.
The Janta was happy to see Vijay on-screen after quite a long time. It was a complete massy family entertainer with all the whistle worthy moments you expect out of a South Indian movie starring Vijay. But being a totally commercial film, some also believe the story was not that nicely executed.
