PULLED OUT THE WACOM AND DREW AFTER AGES! This is part of #PinkListPride! Go check out more art featuring organisations working for the upliftment of Indian LGBTQIA+ folk on @pinklistindia! Featuring Solidarity Foundation (@solidarityfoundation) - a young Bangalore-based foundation set up in March 2013 to walk with, and support sex workers and sexual minorities. Solidarity does not engage with the government directly but rather works towards supporting community members access social entitlements, services like credit, and access to subsidised loans in addition to targeted interventions with organisations like NACO. The main communities that Solidarity partners with are non-English speaking sex workers and sexual minorities who are at the frontlines of social change. As an organisation that works with socio-economically disadvantaged gender and sexual minorities across South India, Solidarity’s hopes and aspirations for the community include ensuring better access to secure livelihood opportunities for all community members, strong, independent grassroots community leadership, access to social entitlements, and increased awareness about the challenges and realities of the community at the grassroots level. The piece shows two gender non-conforming individuals in embrace, amidst the many bookshelves and pieces of children's art work that adorn the walls of the Solidarity Foundation Office, Bengaluru. #tracingspaces #solidarity #solidarityfoundation #karnataka #lgbtkarnataka #lgbtqkarnataka #karnatakapride #karnataka #pride #pridemonth2020 #virtualpride #loveislove #lovewins #equalrights #equality #art #artistsoninstagram #lgbtqindia #prideindia #rainbow #rainbownation #gayrights #transrightsnow #gay #lesbian #bisexual #transgender #queer #queerpolitics #pinklistindia
