The trailer of Netflix's 'Bhakshak' hints towards a powerful film about justice and courage in the face of abuse. The film stars Bhumi Pednekar and Aditya Srivastava in lead roles.
"Bhakshak," as the name suggests, is the story of a predatory pedophile who abuses young orphan girls, and a reporter who is determined to seek justice for the victims. Directed and written by Pulkit and co-written by Jyotsana Nath, the film is scheduled for release on Netflix on February 9, 2024.
Bhumi Pednekar, renowned for portraying strong female characters, takes on the role of Vaishali Singh in the film. As a determined reporter, she challenges the perpetrator and anyone supporting injustice. She doesn’t let the fear for her life come in the way of her pursuit of justice. Aditya Srivastava, well-known for his portrayal of Officer Abhijeet in the TV series CID, embodies the character of Bansi Sahu. Sahu is the predator who abuses the girls and prevents the government from taking any action against him. Judging from the trailer, both actors appear to deliver commendable performances. The cast also features talented actors Sanjay Mishra and Sai Tamhankar.
Bhakshak's trailer also features impactful dialogue and commentary. The most noteworthy aspect of the trailer is its probing nature. Every question posed by Vaishali holds significance. Do we only speak out when injustice directly affects us? What prevents us from showing compassion, especially when others are vulnerable and in danger? Have we turned into predators, exploiting each other's pain? In an era where the media has become more commercial than ethical, Bhakshak's trailer reminds us of the real job of a journalist. This trailer is both impressive and intriguing.
