The trailer of Vasan Bala's Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina in the lead, just got released, and it looks like a cinematic ride into an action thriller in which the sister saves her brother—not the other way around!
Suppose Jigra's teaser trailer gave us an exciting glimpse into the unique world created by Vasan Bala and left us craving more. In that case, the film's trailer is here to officially excite us enough to show up to the theatre halls to witness the marvel unfold on the big screen! The story, as was evident earlier, is about a sister's (Alia Bhatt) fight to save her brother, Ankur (Vedang Raina), who is sent to torture in a South Korean jail for committing a crime as illegal drugs are found on him.
From the trailer, it looks like a straightforward narrative, as one could imagine, but how it is presented to us where every frame dances to the tunes of the background score, leaves you stunned. The levelled-up cinematic excellence is seen just in the three-minute trailer, where a stone-cold, dead-on-set yet emotional Alia Bhatt, who is ready to devour anything and everything that comes within her sight, is so desperate to save her brother that she even thinks cutting her wrist is a logical solution. On the other hand, Vedang Raina seems to portray the torturous journey from inside the jail.

From the training montages where Alia Bhatt prepares to be 'Bachchan' to fight tooth and nail to some of the action sequences that we get to see in the trailer, especially that smokey walk on the glass building, it all looks like Vasan Bala has reigned his unique style of storytelling with a great deal of cinematic genius to craft Jigra. It almost reminds you of the vibe of Chandni Chowk to China, but this time around, instead of Akshay Kumar, it's Bhatt's time to shine as an action superstar! And why not? From her debut in Dharma's Student of the Year to now co-producing with the production house, Bhatt has come a long way, proving that now she is standing where she doesn't need a hero to save her. Instead, she can be one and save others!
Apart from Alia and Vedang, Jigra also stars Manoj Pahwa and is slated to be released on October 11th, 2024, in theatres near you! What did you think about the trailer? Let us know in the comments below!
