The Jigra teaser trailer showcases Alia Bhatt in an intense role, delivering action, drama, and sibling love. Directed by Vasan Bala, this film also features Vedang Raina.
There’s no doubt that Alia Bhatt is a versatile actress, and her upcoming film 'Jigra' seems to add another unique character to her list. Dharma Productions recently dropped the teaser trailer for Vasan Bala’s Jigra, starring Bhatt and Vedang Raina as siblings. According to the teaser, the story follows Satya (Bhatt), who lost her parents early on and was mistreated by her relatives. Her brother (Raina) is suffering in prison, and she’s doing everything she can to free him.

The teaser is fascinating due to its use of contrast. It shows Bhatt as a troubled character, filled with pain and darkness, engaging in self-harm, while fighting everyone around her. “Ab toh Bachchan hi banna hai,” she says, as an angry young woman. What makes it interesting is that despite Bhatt’s innocent appearance, she’s seen drinking, shooting guns, and blowing up cars, all while maintaining that innocent look. Raina also looks very different from his polished role in The Archies. Despite the heavy action, the teaser emphasizes the deep bond and love between the siblings. As cars explode and bullets fly, the nostalgic song “Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka” plays in the background, creating an intriguing contrast. Moreover, Bala’s signature cinematography, with its vibrant red tones, adds to the intensity.
In just three minutes, the Jigra teaser packs a punch, with powerful dialogues and moments of silence that say just as much. Jigra looks like a refreshing and exciting film, and we can’t wait for its release. Co-written with Debashish Irengbam, and produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt, and Soumen Mishra, the film is set to hit theaters on October 11, 2024.
