Check out the amazingly talented sister duo, Sukriti and Prakriti who are taking Indian music to the world.
Music is a love language that can unite people from around the world. There's no better way to figure what a person's mood is like other than browsing through the kind of music that they're listening to. If you're celebrating something, or missing your EX, or going through a rough patch in life, music has you covered. The reason behind these songs becoming so important in our lives is the artists who create this magic. Over the years, we've seen artists from our home country making a name on the international stage with their songs. And twin sisters and singers, Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar became a sensation in recent times, taking Indian music to the world.
Getting into music was a natural choice for the sisters. The two are born into a musical family with their mother who is a music teacher and elder sister who is pursuing a career in the same. The twin sisters were drawn to take their chance in their own musical journey. They realized that music was their true calling and decided to dedicate their lives to perfecting it. “It’s one passion of ours that’s irreplaceable and we’re lucky we could make it our profession.”
There's a lot that makes this duo interesting but one among them is the fact that they're siblings creating music together. We've had siblings who have worked as a team and delivered incredible music becoming part of our playlist. While both have their unique features, a combination of this uniqueness is what makes them even more special. Talking about working together, they said, "The best part would be the comfort, synergy, and creative freedom we share with each other. Also, two individual approaches give a new perspective to a creative mind and multiply ideas."
The two also took the time to describe each other through a music genre. According to them, Sukriti will always be the ‘Pop’ person and Prakriti will be ‘RnB’. And this not only represents their playlists but their personalities too.
Sukriti and Prakriti rose to fame with their Hindi rendition of popular English songs. People have been loving their version and this has encouraged them to keep creating more. Recently they were placed at No. 1 for two weeks on the Top Triller chart on Billboard. They also received a Triller plaque for the same. Recalling the moment the sisters said, "It’s been so surreal to be in such an elite company of such wonderful global artists. We feel honored but more importantly responsible towards our fans to continue making new music and bringing more smiles through our music in this world! We absolutely love Triller and thank them for their support on every song we deliver."
They believe that every artist has their own distinct style that makes their music different from the rest. While one may not create anything similar to the other, they can always look for inspiration. Sukriti and Prakriti also find their inspiration from artists from around the world. Internationally they look up to Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Justin Bieber, Adele, Ariana Grande to name a few. While thinking about Indian influencers and artists they find everybody they've had the opportunity to work with like Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Vishal Shekhar, Salim Sulaiman, Ankit Tiwari, Mithoon, Pritam da to name a few.
Sukriti and Prakriti's rendition of the Women’s Day song of Triller ‘Nari’ also was a huge hit among the listeners making it to the Global Billboard Charts. "The whole experience has been fabulous. First of all, it made us realize we could rap in a song since that was a first for us. We were super nervous initially because rap isn’t exactly our forte but people seemed to have loved it and it makes us feel like nothing is really impossible which is essentially what the song spoke about too. It’s definitely a song that uplifts women and unites them and we’re grateful to have done that."
One part of their success belongs to short-video platforms like Triller that have been able to help artists share and put their content out for more people. Talking about how the platform has helped them in their career they said, "Triller was a platform that is perfect for artists since it’s engaging, effective and makes one’s social presence be felt. Not only does Triller help us to create videos but with a global reach of over 350 million users, it also connects us with creators from all over the world. Triller provides artists like us a great platform to grow and collaborate with other talented creators and its billboard partnership is one of the best ways to reach a global audience, the best example of it is our song ‘Majnu’. We're grateful to receive a plaque and #1 spot on Billboard Global charts for 2 weeks in a row. Through Triller, we got an opportunity to meet over 10 creators after the success of ‘Majnu’ and it was a great experience for us as artists as we were able to collaborate with the other creators and make incredible content with them."

We asked them if there were any musical journeys that they wished to explore together and be a part of and here's what they had to say -
"Our album is on the charts for sure! We’ve been meaning to release a few songs together and depending on which one our fans vibe with the most we would shoot a music video for it. We’ve been creating a bank of songs so hopefully, that will happen very soon. We’re also looking forward to more collaborations in the future because that’s how music is shared and multiplied. When two different artists come together they create something new and that’s a journey you never want to miss."
