The Broken News is the Indian adaptation of the British series Press. The eight-episode newsroom drama is about two channels competing with one another. The first one, named Josh 24/7, is portrayed as India's No.1 news channel but doesn't really bother to check its facts. It has Dipankar Sanyal played by Jaideep Ahlawat as the face of the show. And the second one is Awaaz Bharti which might be struggling with viewership but is run by Ameena Qureshi played by Sonali Bendre who believes in putting out honest journalism on her channel. She also as her deputy Radha Bhargava played by Shriya Pilgaonkar, a budding star in the field of journalism who wants to explore anything and everything. Produced by BBC Studios India, the show is written by Sambit Mishra and directed by Vinay Waikul.

The Broken News depicts how the media is responsible for influencing us and shaping our opinions on various worldly affairs in today's time. The two news channels battle with each other for TRP, power, and making money and co-incidentally have their studios in the same building. The dynamic group of journalists navigates through their struggles, lies, and ambitions while trying to put their best foot forward as a news reporter.
