Telangana's capital Hyderabad was hit by heavy rain on Wednesday which resulted in 32 deaths and massive collateral damage.
Heavy rains were reported in Andhra Pradesh, north Karnataka and south Odisha on Wednesday resulting in 32 deads and massive destructions as the streets flooded. The army was called in to carry out rescue and relief operations as the capital of Telangana, Hyderabad was hit with the dreadful flood. The government officials said that the toll of deaths may rise as many were washed away in the flood.
Access on the national highways connecting Vijayawada and Bengaluru was cut off from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Many parts of Hyderabad did not have electricity for 12-24 hours. It was also one of the rainiest days that Hyderabad had ever witnessed. Whereas in Andhra Pradesh, rains triggered huge destruction in several coastal districts. About 98 villages in Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna districts remained under floodwater until the second day.
