India and #Uninstall trends have gained a certain amount of infamy after recent target, Snapchat suffered for ‘alleged comments’ insulting India’s economic status came to light. Well, the #TeamUninstall have found a new scapegoat in MakeMyTrip.com, the travel and accommodation website over their co-founder’s tweets which has now given birth to #UninstallMakeMyTrip on Twitter.
So here’s how the #UninstallMakeMyTrip trend began.
So this is what Mr. Keyur Joshi, Co-Founder and ex employee, MakeMyTrip, tweeted from his account.
And then, #TeamUninstall had found their mission.
They were angry, and asked their followers and friends to #UninstallMakeMyTrip , and rate the app 'one star' on the Play Store and iOS App Store. Yeah we know you have heard that one before.
Just to put things into perspective, MakeMyTrip tried to clarify, repeatedly, that Keyur Joshi no longer worked for the company and was an ex employee.
Well clearly that explanation was not going to work for these guys.
So these tweets kept coming, one after the other, regardless of the fact that the man no longer works for the company, or that the company has absolutely no views regarding #Beef at all. I mean how many times have you seen a company eat anything?
Among all this #UninstallMakeMyTrip and #Beef conversations, this guy really tried to make memes while the controversy shined, but it was not enough.
And this guy clearly tried to make sense, but we all know how that works out. His tweet was an attempt to point out that the man was a BJP supporter, and should be granted some clemency, but no one was having it.
The #UninstallMakeMyTrip trend continued to deliver like Vin Diesel delivers Fast and Furious movies.
This guy wrote the world's shortest horror story for an entrepreneur. ^
And to conclude, we have this honest guy here.
Although my favourite is the guy who's been living under a rock.
Just let that sink in for a while.
Of all the companies that have borne the brunt of #TeamUninstall, MakeMyTrip is the latest victim! Keyur Joshi proceeded to delete his account after the severe backlash from Twitter users but the damage appears to have been done.
Not just Snapchat, luck has not been on the side of many such brands who had to face the ire of #TeamUninstall. Watch out for our next article where we list brands that suffered the same fate as MakeMyTrip and Snapchat, and why!
