After a four-year-long wait, fans finally had the chance to experience the epic culmination of it all with some questions lingering. And while the epic battle is yet to take place since Stranger Things season 4 is divided into two volumes, fans are eagerly waiting for a month for the finale aka Vol 2 to drop soon to see how it all ends!
Till then here's a little recap of all the strange things that have happened in Hawkins so far!
Stranger Things Season One
The first season welcomes us into the world of Hawkins, Indiana, in 1983. A time of classic movies, Steven King novels, and fantasy role-playing games. But all is not good as terror and danger also lurk around the corner. All is going well up until a young boy, Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) goes missing mysteriously one night. As Will's best buddies, Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin), and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) start a search for him, the town police chief, Jim Hopper (David Harbour), and Will's mother, Joyce (Winona Ryder) go on their own to search for the kid as well. Will's brother, Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), and Mike's sister, Nancy (Natalia Dyer) also start following some mysterious leads after Nancy's best friend, Barb (Shannon Purser) also goes missing. Later on, they are joined by Nancy's boyfriend, Steve (Joe Keery) rising above his own teen drama.
The path of finding Will draws each team towards unearthing an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces, Upside Down, Dungeons & Dragons, Demogorgon, and one very strange little girl, Eleven.
Stranger Things Season Two
It's been a year since the whole gang has been through so much and Hawkins entered in 1984. Eleven is not dead but we get to know that she is living in hiding with Hopper who is busy investigating some mysterious happenings on the farms. And the four boys are trying to live a life after the crazy happenings of the last year but Will is still facing some difficulties. Though there are some new entrants like Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink), and her alpha step-brother, Billy (Dacre Montgomery), Joyce is dating former schoolmate, Bob Newby (Sean Astin). A private detective, hired by Barb's parents to look into her disappearance, Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman), and of course, Lucas' sister Erica (Priah Ferguson).
While everyone is still reeling from the horrors of the last year, this time again people are divided into different teams to take on a bigger terror they didn't know was lurking. The Mind Flayer’s tunnels, which Steve, Dustin, Lucas, Max, and Mike end up setting fire to; Hopper’s cabin, where Nancy, Joyce, and Jonathan turn up the heat in an exorcism-style attempt to cure Will; and the lab, where Eleven with Hopper closes the dimensional gate. Bob Newby, unfortunately, doesn't make it through!
Stranger Things Season Three
It's the year 1985 and it's officially summer in Hawkins! While last year the entire gang of adults, teenagers, and kids dealt with the horrors of the Mind Flayer and closed the gate, it seems like it's not likely to remain closed. While the school's out and summer is heating up, there are new romances blooming just as much as new dangers looming. The Russians are busy opening up the gate once again without releasing the dangers of it while there's a new Starcourt Mall that has recently opened and is the new obsession in town. While Steve, Dustin, Erica, and new entrant Robin (Maya Hawke) figure out what the Russians are up to, Nancy and Johnathan are riding on their whirlwind romance while figuring out their careers as well as the new rising situations with Rats.
Other than the Starcourt Mall, Billy is also the newfound obsession amongst the local ladies due to his newfound job as the shirtless lifeguard up until his interaction with the Mind Flayer who takes him into possession. Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, and Max rise up from their teen relationship drama and realize Billy's possession and work towards fighting the Mind Flayer. Meanwhile, Joyce and Hopper rise above their sexual tensions and Murray finds out about the Russians and what they are up to and head towards their layer to stop them. In the big battle at Starcourt mall, Billy ends up sacrificing himself for Eleven while Hopper seems to not have survived too.
Stranger Things Season Four Vol 1
It's 1986 and it has been almost six months since the Battle of Starcourt, which brought so much terror and destruction to Hawkins. While the whole gang is struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are at different places for the first time. And as they are navigating through the complexities of high school which is changing everybody, it hasn't made things any easier. Eleven has lost her superpowers and is being bullied at her new school while Max has slipped into depression. Mike and Dustin are busy with an official D&D club called Hellfire Club run by Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) while Lucas has joined the basketball team. Will seems to be hiding something while Johnathan and Nancy are doing terribly at long distance, and Steve and Robin are working and helping each other. Joyce with Murray is busy solving clues like Hooper is alive and is probably in Russia.
In this most vulnerable time where being scared of black magic, unknown sudden deaths have given rise to a cult in town, a new and horrifying supernatural threat as Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) surfaces, who is hell-bent on possessing and killing Hawkins. But he comes with a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down once and for all. Throughout the season, Dustin, Steve, Eddie, Nancy, Robin, Lucas, and Max are on a hunt to find the real identity of Vecna while also working on saving Max from taking possession by Vecna. And until the season finale, we find out that Vecna is none other than Victor Creel’s son as well as the first child of Dr. Brenner, who had taken him under his wing as One. Eleven who has lost her powers is taken to Dr. Brenner’s Nina Project, where she is put in a water tank to relive her past memories through recordings and gain her powers back. While the project’s location is not known to anyone, a worried Mike with Will, Jonathan, and Argyle (Eduardo Franco) set off to look for Eleven. After a long tussle in seven episodes, Hopper is finally rescued by Joyce and Murray from the Russian prison.
We're eagerly waiting for Vol 2 to come out on July 1 to give us all the answers that we're desperately waiting for and probably an epic battle between Vecna and Eleven aka 1 vs 11.
Till then watch the exhilarating and exciting trailer for an epic finale that is supposed to be of more than 2 hours!
