Russia announced the world's first COVID-19 vaccine, 'Sputnik V'
Russia became the first country in the world to launch its first vaccine against the novel coronavirus. The production of the first batch of the vaccine is currently in process. As per Russian Health Minister, 1 lakh people have already been vaccinated against the virus.

President-elect Biden elected a historical all-female communications team
US President-elect Joe Biden selected the members of his communications team to hire mostly women, including several women of colour. The decision has been applauded across the world for ensuring diversity and representation.

Farmers continue to protest against Farm Law Bill; Centre engaging in talks
Farmers Protest in Delhi has entered its ninth day. The Centre had staged a discussion of three union ministers with the farmers on Thursday, 3rd December. However, no resolution has come out of it. The next meeting will be held on Saturday, 5th December.

COVID-19 Update: PM Modi in meeting with all-party leaders to discuss vaccine
India's coronavirus case count now stands at 95.71 lakh crossing the 90 lakh mark. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 1,39, 188. The number of current active cases in the country is 4,16,082. Currently, PM Modi's all-party meeting is underway which has been joined by about 12 leaders from prominent political parties across India.

Actor Elliot Page identified himself as transgender in an overwhelming note on social media
Umbrella Academy actor Elliot Page took to social media to announce that he identifies as transgender. “My pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this,” the post read. Read more about it here.

F1 driver Romain Grosjean escaped death in a horror crash
Formula One driver Romain Grosjean witnessed a horrid crash of his Haas at Bahrain Formula One Grand Prix on 29th November. Grosjean miraculously escaped the burning car which split into two. The driver was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. He only sustained burns on his hands.
