New Update
Advertisment
After updating YouTube Shorts with new tools that will help creators manage their editing, YouTube is now testing a beta version of Community Space. The feature that looks similar to that of Threads, Reddit, and so on, will allow creators to form their own community where they can share posts to communicate with their followers. Opening a two-way dialogue between creators and fans outside of the comment section, this new feature will address the absence of direct messaging on YouTube.
This new feature looks similar to Instagram’s Broadcast that allows exclusivity with a close-knit group online. Creators can share content that doesn’t make it to their feed but deserves an audience nonetheless. If YouTube decides to let the creators have a paywall, they can also strengthen their Subscription offering without having to rely on other tools and platforms like Patreon. Creators will also be able to hold discussions with their communities to understand their thoughts about everything on and around their content. This feedback will help them strategize their content that benefits both themselves and their followers.

The feature is at the beta testing stage and it's made available to just a few YouTubers like FroggyCrossing.
