The Shamshera trailer gives the feel of an epic saga that looks like a mix of Mad Max and Baahubali

Karam se Dacait aur Dharma se Azaad, the Shamshera trailer paints a picture of an epic saga that looks visually grand and stunning!

History used to be most often the favorite subject of Bollywood before PSA films had taken over with their small town, entertaining, minimal but riddled with social message formula. But historical fantasy is one such genre that hasn't been too explored in Bollywood yet but looking at the Shamshera trailer it seems it’s a start. Karan Malhotra’s film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, and Vaani Kapoor with its visually stunning trailer takes us back to the time of 1881 in a fictional place called Kaza. And YRF after a long time is coming back with such a grand story.

From the trailer, the film with its larger-than-life messiah action piece looks like it has taken inspiration from many films and is a culmination of all like masterpieces from down south like Baahubali, KGF, Pushpa, RRR or from Indian stories like Agneepath (made by Karan as well), Thugs of Hindostan, or from Hollywood masterpiece Mad Max Fury Road. No matter how many films Shamshera resembles, one thing is clear from the trailer - Bollywood recognizes the value of large-scale production with worthwhile content!

Though the teaser generated excitement about the film and the trailer seems unique, we’ll only know the real verdict on July 22 when the film releases in theatres. This also marks Ranbir Kapoor’s first attempt to play a mass action hero mostly in a double role as father-son.
