Cricket World Cup 2019 saw a painfully slow innings from India in the recent India vs Afghanistan match. India still won, thanks to Mohammed Shami’s glorious hat-trick. But like any other match of India, it has brought on a different story that is catching fire.
In his assessment of the match, ‘the God of cricket’ Sachin Tendulkar reviewed Dhoni’s performance negatively. According to Tendulkar, Dhoni who had a slow innings of 28 off 52 balls, should show positive intent. He said, “MS Dhoni is a senior player and should show positive intent. Afghanistan’s bowling is good but you can’t score only 119 runs in 34 overs. He did not show any positive intent against Afghanistan. MS Dhoni has the ability to hit but yesterday his strike rotation was not good. He faced too many dot balls and this hampered a strong finish for India. The intent could have been much better by the middle order batsmen. I believe MS Dhoni needs to up his ante when it comes to strike rotation in next matches”.

Needless to say, Twitter burst out with its own opinions on this comment. While some are not happy with Sachin’s remark and are reminding him that he has had low points in his career too; others are of the view that he is right.

One said disappointed and upset for missing his miletone.
The other said it's doesn't matter for him whether he get 100 or not. pic.twitter.com/79Rnd816g3
To be honest Sachin's statement about #Dhoni's innings is fairly true. He has really struggled against spin bowling and is not even able to rotate strike. He's still an integral part of the team but he has to work on his batting approach.

The same man that won you the World Cup which you couldn't win in your whole career with one of the best Indian players around. Sachin acting like he was some big hitter, man used to struggle in his 90s. Someone should pull up his strike rate when he's been in the 90s??♂️ #Dhoni? pic.twitter.com/hCVQ5aBI9h

If this was said by anybody else for Dhoni, hell would have broken loose. But does that mean that Sachin can say anything and get away? pic.twitter.com/UE5RJaGQxU

Once UPON A TIME there was a SKIPPER who was considered as MATCH WINNER and but not any more in last several match of last 2 years.#MSDhoni ...Whereas #Sachin was always consistent in any of #WorldCup matches and displayed some of the Wonderful Cricket..So far it is missing by MS https://t.co/jLBT1pgoD8

Sachin is a commentator, it is his job to express his views based on his knowledge (which is more than all of us).

Whenever any other ex cricketer like Gavaskar criticizes anyone for strike rate do we remind him about his career.
Why different treatment to #Sachin? #Dhoni pic.twitter.com/xe4nwK4kQ7
So, what are your thoughts about Master Blaster’s assessment of our ex-captain ‘cool’?
