A young girl in Utah refused to solve a Math problem which sounded 'rude'. She is winning hearts around the world with her reason for not solving the problem.
Body shaming is an issue that was never addressed before or received enough attention. With new age media, people are making an effort at noticing how body positivity and self-love is important. People are trying to educate and spread awareness about the need for self-love and to think beyond the superficial standards of beauty. Rhythm Pacheco from Utah is one such young individual trying to make her contribution towards it.
10-year-old, Rhythm Pacheco refused to solve a Math problem in one of her tests because she found the question to be very offensive. The problem wanted her to mention how much heavier Isabel weighed than the lightest person. This problem speaks about body shaming right in the face and it didn't go down well with Rhythm.
Here is the question Rhythm Pacheco refused to answer:

She later wrote a letter to her teacher explaining as to why she did not solve the Math problem. Rhythm Pacheco's letter said, “I don’t want to be rude, but I think that math problem wasn’t very nice, that's judging people’s weight. Also, the reason I did not do the sentence write a sentence is 'cause I just don’t think that's nice."
In these times when we talk about body positivity and self-love, we forget that it should begin from a young age. School is the place people learn new things and carry with them for the rest of their lives. For schools to include such questions in the school curriculum is really saddening.
Here's how the internet applauded Rhythm Pacheco:
