These Rhaenyra and Daenerys Targaryen similarities make you feel like they're the same person!

Coming from one of the strongest house in all of Westeros, Rhaenyra and Daenerys Targaryen have so much in common than we thought!

Ever since House of the Dragon has been released episode after episode, it's brought its own set of nostalgia for Game of Thrones fans. I felt we were back to season 1 of Game of Thrones when the same intro song started playing for House of the Dragon. Then comes the famous King's Landing with the powerful Iron Throne that people literally turn the whole world upside down for. The houses, the wine, the clothes everything reminded me of a show that I invested so much of my emotions in. But the ones that stood out the most to me were Rhaenyra and Daenerys Targaryen similarities. Of course, this comes from the fact that they both belong to the same house but a character like Daenerys felt one of a kind. We've all rooted for her till the very end, loved the fire she had in her to become the Queen and rule all of Westeros, and little did we know that we'd see the same fire in Rhaenyra as well.

I also cannot deny that if there are similarities, taking the recent episode into consideration, there are also many differences between the two. Rhaenyra obviously had it way easier than Danny did. She was already born with a silver spoon in her mouth and Danny had to fight her way up to it. But the core essence of who they are feels exactly the same!

Let's break down the similarities between these powerful and badass women!

Both of them had to deal with a realm that couldn't accept a Queen

Being a women in Westeros has never been an easy job. Both Rhaenyra and Daenerys wanted to rule the world in an era where women were just looked at as a medium to provide the Kings a male heir. The realm would rather be at war than accept a Queen. But they fought for their claim to the throne and always spoke their minds no matter what anyone thought.

They both ride dragons

Rhaenyra and Daenerys loved their dragons and looked at them with utmost adoration in their eyes. Both of them are aware of the power that being a dragon rider gives them. Without the dragons, they'd be just as ordinary as every other house in Westeros. Also, the two say "Dracarys" to their dragons to command them to breathe fire.

They speak High Valyrian

The Targaryens are from the Old Freehold Valyria, on the continent of Essos, where the language they speak is High Valyrian. Which is why most of the Targaryens use it to communicate amongst each other. While Danny used it to communicate with her dragons, Rhaenyra uses it to talk to Daemon.

They both have troubled love lives

They've both kept their hearts true desires aside and married someone else for political power. Danny had a fling with Daario Naharis and Rhaenyra recently had one with Ser Criston Cole. But both the Targaryen women had an eye for someone within the family. Daenerys falls in love with Jon Snow who she later realizes is her long lost nephew whereas Rhaenyra has undeniable chemistry with Daemon Targaryen. Unfortunately, neither of those come true because the heavy burden of the crown tears them apart.

They both lose their mothers to childbirth

Daenerys was given the name 'Stormborn' because she was born through a painful labor on a stormy night. Soon after which her mother passed away in Dragonstone due to the complications in the delivery. Rhaenyra too loses her mother while she is giving birth to her brother and as seen in the first episode of House of the Dragon, an attempt is made to save the child by directly cutting into her stomach.

Honestly the two also look quite similar from certain angles. Rhaenyra has made my heart stop and made me feel like Daenerys has come back alive on-screen. Lastly, the best thing that the two have in common is that they're brave, clever, and absolutely will not take anyone's crap!
