world’s largest Zoo

Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Industries is all set to build the world's largest Zoo in terms of number and species of animals at one place in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Being a dream project of Anant Ambani, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani’s youngest son, the zoo will be built on about 280 acres of land and is expected to be open for the public in the next two years. It will be called "Greens Zoological, Rescue & Rehabilitation Kingdom" and will be the world’s largest Zoo that will have birds and animals from all across the world in sections like "Forest of India", "Dragon's Land", "Indian Desert", "Exotic Island", "Wild Trail of Gujarat" and "The Aquatic Kingdom".
As per the reports, these animals are likely to be part of the zoo - the African Lion, Cheetah, Jaguar, Indian Wolf, Asiatic Lion, Pygmy Hippo, Orangutan, Lemur, Fishing Cat, Sloth Bear, Bengal Tiger, Malayan Tapir, Gorilla, Zebra, Giraffe, African elephant, and Komodo Dragon. It is worth noting that RIL has also set up a rescue center at Jamnagar where a few leopards were recently shifted from the wild by the state forest department.

For the project, RIL has already obtained all the necessary approvals from the State and Central Governments. MK Das, Additional Chief Secretary in the Chief Minister's office, made the announcement "As we all know the world's tallest statue is in Gujarat (Statue of Unity in Kevadiya). Now, one of the world's biggest zoos, in terms of number and species of animals at one place, is coming up very shortly in Jamnagar," Das said.
