Real Madrid made a big comeback after the global pandemic break by beating Mallorca 2-0 on Wednesday to secure top position in the Spanish league.
In a dramatic Spanish League match on Wednesday, Vinicius Junior and Sergio Ramos scored a goal in the first half and the second half respectively as Real Madrid takes a lead. Barcelona and Madrid are tied with 68 points but Madrid is ahead on the tiebreakers.
Mallorca opposed a foul against its player which led to Vinicius Junior scoring a goal in the 19th minute, but the goal stood after video review. The claims were that Dani Carvajal made an offensive block on Dani Rodriguez to allow Madrid to regain possession and score the goal. Júnior found the net with a chip shot over goalkeeper Manolo Reina after a pass by Luka Modric.

Coincidentally, RM had video review decisions go its way in each of its first three victories post the break. Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane spent much time defending his team from allegations that the team was gaining from refereeing decisions.
“There is a lot of talk about that because we are leading,” Ramos said. “It wasn’t like that when we weren’t upfront. They make it look like we have to thank the referees for being the leaders. People shouldn’t be making up movie stories.”
69th league goal with a free-kick, Ramos scored his third goal since the league began to post the break. Real Madrid clinched its victory to reach the top of the table. Hala Madrid!
