R.D. Burman had his first hit film as a film music director in Teesri Manzil (1966). He did most of his work with Asha Bhosle (who he later married), Mohammed Rafi,Gulzar, and Lata Mangeshkar. But the strongest connection that he had was with Kishore Kumar. Both of them were very close, and highly respected each other and the duo created some of the most soulful songs ever created in Bollywood.
