Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's first Netflix series is announced and it's going to document the Invictus Games. Here are all the details to it.
Ever since Prince Harry's last appearance alongside his wife Meghan Markle in a revealing interview with Oprah on CBS, everyone has wondered what are they up to now. It seems like the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are quite busy with their new production house 'Archewell Productions'. With this, they had signed a deal with the streaming service, Netflix, last fall. And their producing debut is going to be a docuseries on the Invictus Games. This is a global adaptive sports competition which is part of the foundation started by Prince Harry. Now Archewell Productions, in partnership with The Invictus Games Foundation, announced its first Netflix series. Heart of Invictus, from the Oscar-winning team of director Orlando von Einsiedel and producer Joanna Natasegara.
According to About Netflix, the multi-episode series will join the competitors as they train, and along the way reveal powerful stories of resilience and hope. The series will also follow the organizers as they work to prepare for the Games, postponed until next Spring, and as they partner with each nation’s team to support their competitors over the coming year.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s pact with Netflix, for now, covers documentaries, feature films, scripted TV series, and children’s shows. The couple founded Archewell Productions as a vehicle to produce programming that can “embrace our shared humanity and duty to truth through a compassionate lens,” per the organization’s mission.
In addition to being executive producer of the series “Heart of Invictus,” Prince Harry will also appear on camera in the docuseries. As per About Netflix, “Since the very first Invictus Games back in 2014, we knew that each competitor would contribute in their own exceptional way to a mosaic of resilience, determination, and resolve. This series will give communities around the world a window into the moving and uplifting stories of these competitors on their path to the Netherlands next year. As Archewell Productions’ first series with Netflix, in partnership with the Invictus Games Foundation, I couldn’t be more excited for the journey ahead or prouder of the Invictus community for continuously inspiring global healing, human potential and continued service,” said Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, Co-Founder of Archewell Productions and Patron of The Invictus Games Foundation.
