Be a Man

Yuvaa's "Be A Man, Yaar!" has returned, featuring a lineup of interesting discussions, and here are four reasons why you shouldn't miss it out!

India is not an exception to the influence of patriarchy and despite more people calling out and combating these norms, it still feels like the road to true gender equality remains long and challenging. While we find the space to discuss women's empowerment, the experiences of men within this patriarchal society end up being ignored. People are more inclined to admire the historic archetype of a macho man who is strong, stoic, and protective to the extent that it has subconsciously made men want to conform to them. However, there has been a steady shift and it is encouraging to witness society trying to adopt a better approach to understanding masculinity. Especially with shows like Yuvaa's "Be a Man, Yaar!" as a great example of how we're starting to question and redefine what it truly means to be a man in today's world.
