It’s one thing to have a meet-cute with a stranger and fall in love but it’s entirely another when friendship turns into love and these on-screen couples are a beautiful reminder of that!
The friends to lovers trope is one of the most wholesome ones there is! When Monica proposes to Chandler, after years of friendship and eventually falling in love, we all get a little teary eyed. When Colin finally realized his feelings for Penelope, everyone waited with bated breath to watch their story unfold and when Aisha wrote an entire article in a magazine for Sid where she confessed her love for him, we wanted to become a writer the very next day. These friends made me believe that your partner has to be your ultimate best friend! He has to be the person you turn to when things go wrong or when life is looking up. When there’s gossip to share or different parts of the world to explore, he has to be your safe space like a best friend is supposed to be! After watching all of these iconic friends to lovers stories on-screen, I'd be lying if I said that I didn’t look at my guy best friend and thought of wanting the same until I came back in touch with reality!
