Koffee with Karan season 8: Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor brought a good mix of sibling revelry and rivalry on the Koffee couch!

Koffee with Karan season 8 continues to be the talk of the town with its interesting pairings and the stuff that’s said on the show and this week was no different either!

As Karan Johar said at the start of his monologue, no Koffee with Karan episode is complete without a debutant on the couch. This year, taking that tradition forward is Khushi Kapoor who made her appearance on the show with her elder sister Janhvi Kapoor. The two sisters spoke about their relationships, their movies, the chaotic Kapoor family but most importantly their mother- the one and only Sridevi. 

As soon as the duo entered, they spoke about how they have always watched Koffee with Karan together and they’ve gone from that to actually being together on the couch. Karan Johar also mentioned how this episode is a full circle and emotional moment for him in a way because he was a massive Sridevi fan and today her kids are on his show. He then asked Khushi about her audition process for The Archies and the moment she found out she got the part in a Zoya Akhtar film. She said it was super emotional for her and it’s something that she had dreamt of for the longest time. 

We’ve never really seen what the sibling dynamics are like between Janhvi and Khushi and this episode revealed a lot about them in that sense. While talking about their mother, Sridevi, with a teary eye and a heavy heart, Janhvi recalled the moment when she got the phone call about her mother passing away. She said she could hear her sister cry from the other room and as soon as she barged in, Khushi stopped crying and comforted her instead. What she meant was, even though Khushi is the younger one, she is the rock that holds their family together by being strong during trying times. It was rather heartwarming to watch the two sisters fondly talking about their relationship and the equation they have with their father, Boney Kapoor. 

Every Koffee with Karan episode is Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, so while there’s emotionally heavy topics that they discussed, Karan then swiftly moved on to his most favorite subject of discussion- who the two Kapoor sisters are dating. According to speculations, Khushi Kapoor is dating one of her Archies crew members, Vedang Raina but she subtly yet not entirely rejected the rumors by saying ‘we’re just good friends’. But we’ve seen Janhvi with her boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya a plethora of times because of the paparazzi. There’s a moment during the game they played later on where Janhvi almost spills the beans on her relationship. 

The usual game and the rapid fire in which both the sisters gave it their best shot, brought an end to another episode full of various different emotions and an insight into the life of another star kid the internet can’t stop stalking!
