Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone opened Koffee with Karan season 8 on a high note and here’s everything we loved about the season premiere!

Our ultimate guilty pleasure is back sooner than we thought and this season, it's got a whole new vibe to it. With shorter monologues and the rapid fire being way at the end, there are quite a few changes made this season to make it look more sophisticated but the core of it which is getting the most out of celebrities still lies intact. Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh opened the season with a bang. The couple who are known to be super private about their personal life, opened the doors to so many special moments about their relationship. Never would we have thought that we would be listening to every detail about their journey together on the Koffee couch. And it’s probably the first time the two of them are appearing on a chat show together and all of social media is swooning over how cute the two are with each other. The episode was a good balance of fun, important conversations, emotional moments and a rapid fire which was rapid and full of fire as Karan likes to say!

Now this is what we call love at first sight!

Ranveer describes his first meet with Deepika in the most filmy way possible. They meet at the table reading for Ram-Leela at Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s house. He said when the big doors opened and the sea wind started flowing in Deepika’s hair that’s when his heart first melted. They had a spark between them since day 1 and he knew this would go somewhere!

Ranveer’s dreamy wedding proposal!

Five years after their marriage, we finally heard the story from the couple themselves about how Ranveer put a ring on Deepika’s finger. He said that they took a vacation together in Maldives back in 2015 and on the trip, surrounded by water he popped the big question and she said yes with happy tears in her eyes! He also explained how Deepika’s family was first taken aback by the news but how this Rocky who always has his heart on his sleeve charmed his way through the Padukones!

Karan Johar bravely shared his struggle with mental health 

In a rather serious topic of conversation about mental health, Karan shared that very recently at the launch of NMACC, he had a panic attack and he has been on medication for it. It takes a lot to share personal stories on such a sensitive issue at a time where people are literally waiting to troll you on social media. Deepika too shared her mental health journey and how Ranveer has been her big pillar of support throughout it. The conversation means a lot given the amount of people that watch Koffee with Karan and you just never know in what way it could help someone!

They literally couldn’t stay apart the whole episode!

Usually the rapid fire contenders stay on ends of the couch to bring out their competitive spirit but Deepika and Ranveer were glued to each other the entire episode. Not just that, it was the way he was looking at her with utmost love in his eyes whenever she was talking.

They were probably the only celebrity couple who never released a wedding video. But they did when they felt the time was right and now here we are bawling our eyes out as we watch their video five years later. You can literally feel the purity and love the video exudes and it reignites your faith in love. Or let’s be honest, we all have this sudden urge to get married now! From the powerful background music to The Wedding Filmer casting his magic, the video is no less than a Sanjay Leela Bhansali film in itself!

A dance party for two!

They say you should marry someone who feels like your best friend. It seems like Deepika and Ranveer are just that because she revealed what a day in the life of the Padukone-Singh’s really looks like and it’s the sweetest thing ever! The two share new songs from their playlist with each other and ultimately end the night letting loose and dancing their hearts out till 4 am. It’s a party for two and we love that!

The way to Ranveer’s heart is a ‘Pyaari’

When Deepika was asked what’s the way to a sulking Ranveer’s heart, she said it’s a Pyaari and she got up and gave him a kiss on his forehead. As if we weren’t gushing throughout the whole episode already!
