10 times we loved a trio in Bollywood films!

Bollywood has given us some memorable duos, but over the years, these trios have given us so much more to be thankful for, so much so that today, Madgaon Express and Crew feel like yet another addition to this long list! 

Recently, Madgaon Express and Crew, both opted for a very well-known route of having three protagnists because the charm of Bollywood trios is something else altogether! This trope has been tried, tested, and declared victorious in many films much before them. It is because the unique connection of having three protagonists, especially in the friendship genre, helps bind multiple narratives together without losing the touch of emotion in the process. Most often in the trio, two extremes are balanced with one neutral character between them, giving the film's narrative the added advantage of offering an overview of any situation and a solution. No wonder the famous phrase 'teen tigada kaam bigada' changes to 'teen tigada kaam banaya' when it comes to Bollywood trios because no matter how much trouble or struggle some of these trios go through in the film, they always end up entertaining us!

Dil Chahta Hai 

Akash, Sameer, and Sid— the trio in DCH with Sameer being the balance between Akash and Sid, gave us the ultimate goal of growing up together in friendships and, of course, taking an iconic Goa trip! 

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 

Arjun, Kabir, and Imran, the trio in ZNMD, with Kabir balancing Arjun and Imran, made us understand how self-growth with friends becomes more manageable and even necessary at times while giving us goals to take a trip to Spain! 

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 

Bunny, Aditi, and Avi, the trio in YJHD, with Aditi being the balance between Bunny and Avi, made us understand how even childhood friendships change with time but they don't break. 

3 Idiots 

Rancho, Farhaan, and Raju, the trio in 3 Idiots, with Farhaan balancing Rancho and Raju, made us all understand the actual value of education and what is wrong with our education system! 

Kai Po Che 

Ishaan, Govind, and Omi, the trio in Kai Po Che, with Govind being the balance between Ishaan and Omi, made us understand how loyalty in friendship goes through a test when religion starts to come in between! 

Stree 

Vicky, Jaana, and Bittu, the trio in Stree, with Jaana balancing Vicky and Bittu, made us understand what it means to sacrifice for friendship, even when it means fighting with a ghost! 

Hera Pheri 

Raju, Ganshyam, and Baburao are and always will be considered the OG trio of Bollywood. They balance each other out while struggling to get out of situations and schemes that they all get stuck in because of themselves! 

Amar Akbar Anthony 

Even though Amar, Akbar, and Anthony are brothers instead of friends, the three of them unite to find a balance in this world despite their different religious upbringing! 

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai 

Even if this is more of a romantic triangle, Tina, Rahul, and Anjali gave us a lifetime lesson that love can be found in friendship too!
