Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Donald Glover will be playing the new dynamic duo of the on-screen Mr. and Mrs. Smith as it gets made into a series.
Amazon Studios has roped in Fleabag's star, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and singer-actor, Donald Glover for a series based on the hit 2005 movie, Mr. and Mrs. Smith. This marks a reunion of Phoebe and Donald, after working together in the Stars Wars spin-off, Solo: A Stars Wars Story'. Glover, shared the news as an Instagram story, revealing that the new series will debut in 2022. Phoebe has been seen in many movies but rose to fame with 'Fleabag' while Donald has starred in, Atlanta and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project apparently will not only star but is also created by Waller-Bridge and Glover. It has been quietly in the works for months and stems from the Fleabag star’s overall deal with Amazon. Francesca Sloane has co-created the show and will also serve as the Showrunner. Amazon is backing the project in collaboration with New Regency, the producer of the movie.
Amazon Studios' Head, Jennifer Salke said in a press statement, “Talk about the dream team! Donald and Phoebe are two of the most talented creators and performers in the world. It’s truly a dream for us, as it will be for our global audience, to have these two forces of nature collaborating as a powerhouse creative team."

Mr. and Mrs. Smith is an iconic film directed by Doug Liman, written by Simon Kinberg, featuring Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
The story is about a bored upper-middle-class married couple who learn that they are both assassins belonging to competing agencies. And that they have been assigned to kill each other. The movie is also famous for the rumor that the film sparked Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's real-life romance.
