Pankaj Tripathi - A brilliant actor who wasn't recognized until recently!

Pankaj Tripathi is a face that you might have seen in a lot of movies but never knew of until very recently!

Character actors, a term we usually use for an actor who "specializes in playing eccentric or unusual people rather than leading roles." Earlier, most of these people were faces that were very common, and we were used to seeing them onscreen, but we didn't necessarily recognize them. However, today that is not the scenario! From these character actors of the early days, one of them is Pankaj Tripathi! Today unka naam akele hi kaafi hai to make any content work. He has become either the leading actor or supporting actor who is always in the lead!

He debuted in 2004 and has worked in around 520 films and 65 TV shows including many minor roles. But he got popular after Gangs of Wasseypur, and Mirzapur both. Gangs of Wasseypur brought him immense critical recognition as well as popularity but with Mirzapur, he became a meme, which is the official definition of 'having arrived'! Besides these, some of his most known roles and widely recognized works include Fukrey (both), Masaan, Newton (won a National award), Gurgaon, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Stree, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Ludo, Mimi, 83, Luka Chuppi, Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga, Sacred Games, Criminal Justice (all seasons).
