Period. End of sentence. becomes the only Indian feature nominated for Oscars 2019. Check out more nominations of Best Picture, Best Actor & Best Actress below.
Period. End of sentence. a short-documentary based on the menstruation scenario of a rural village outside Delhi and the real-life Padman - Arunachalam Muruganantham, setting up a low-cost sanitary napkins manufacturing machine has been nominated in the short documentary category for the 91st Academy Awards(Oscars).
It's ironic that it's a proud moment for India, but shameful too. Proud because India has been behind in the global race of features and this nomination may just win. Shameful because the concept is based on the real scenario of an Indian village, where people don't know what period is and have never heard of a pad.
2018 had been a great year for Global Cinema with diversity taking over. Black Panther makes history by being the first superhero movie to be nominated for Best Picture (Wakanda Forever). Yalitza Aparicio was much appreciated for her role in Roma.
The God of transformation - Christian Bale has manifested himself once again with a staggering performance in Vice, so did Rami Malek in Bohemian Rhapsody.
A Star Is Born is the star of this Oscars with 8 Academy Award nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor & Best Actress.

Woke up to see Toni Collette in Hereditary wasn't nominated for Best Actress. I truly thought Get Out would set a precedent for the Academy's recognition of horror films. #OscarNoms pic.twitter.com/UNKU2YhGBY
