To celebrate Olympic Day 2020, Olympians, athletes and fans all over the world come together to be active in the world’s largest 24-hour digital workout.
Olympic Day is a celebration of sport, health, and being the best you can be. It invites everyone around the globe to be active by being part of the official Olympic Day 2020 Workout.
WHO and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) work together to improve health through sport. On Olympic Day 2020 WHO together with IOC advocates for everyone to #BeActive in their daily routines.
Owing to the pandemic, Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 got postponed but even the lockdown could not stop the Olympic athletes to share their daily workouts online in connection to IOC’s #StayStrong, #StayActive, #StayHealthy campaign.
23 Olympians have joined the Olympic Day workout video and today several athletes from around the globe started live workouts from 11 a.m. local time across 20 time zones on The Olympic Games Instagram.
So tune in and work out alongside Olympic icons like gymnast Laurie Hernandez, brilliant biathlete Martin Fourcade, taekwondo supremo Lutalo Muhammad, wrestler Vinesh Phogat, and Pita Taufatofua to name just a few!
Follow all the action throughout the 24 hours on 23 June:
- Live workouts on @olympics Instagram at 11 a.m. local time in different time zones around the world, with locally relevant athletes hosting the live activities.
- A compilation workout video featuring 23 different Olympians from around the world showcasing their favourite workout moves will be available on the Olympic Channel.
