As the 77th Cannes Film Festival unfurled its red carpet for the second day, the French Riviera witnessed film screenings and celebs walking up the stairs!
The 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival seems to be running in full swing! After a successful opening ceremony with jury introductions and honoring Meryl Streep with a Palm d'Or, the festival's second day was full of film screenings and celebrities in glamorous costumes walking down the red carpet. The much-anticipated Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga had its premiere which received a 7-minute long-standing ovation, while Bharat Pavillion was integrated into the film festival's market. As Naomi Campbell stuns everyone with her looks on the red carpet, we also saw Shark Tank India's judge and entrepreneur Namita Thapar walk the red carpet and Rajpal Yadav make his Cannes debut.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga premiere
George Miller's film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth in the lead, had an honorary premiere at the film festival. The film is not a part of the competition and astonishingly received a 7-minute-long standing ovation by the enthusiastic crowd.
Bharat Pavilion Inaugurated
The Indian Pavilion has been rebranded and renamed to Bharat Pavilion, which had its inauguration in a grand ceremony led by Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, along with the Ambassador of India to France, Jawed Ashraf.
Naomi Campbell resurrects her 1996 dress
British supermodel, actress, and activist Naomi Campbell walked the red carpet for the premiere of Furiosa in a Chanel gown originally created for the late Karl Lagerfeld. Interestingly, Naomi only wore this gown in July 1996 when she visited Paris.
Rajpal Yadav and Namita Thapar debut at Cannes
Rajpal Yadav made his Cannes debut where he represented India at the festival with his film 'Kaam Chalu Hai'. Along with director Palaash Muchhal, the film will be screened at the festival. Entrepreneur and Shark Tank India's judge Namita Thapar also walked the red carpet to attend the Furiosa premiere.
Wild Diamond, The Girl with the Needle, Mois Aussi, When the Light Breaks and Faye Dunaway screened
After a quick rendezvous with Meryl Streep, the day quickly moved ahead with screenings of films Wild Diamond by Agathe Reidinger and The Girl with the Needle by Magnus Von Horn, both of which are a part of the main competition. There was a special screening of the film Mois Aussi (Me Too) by Judith Godreche, and the Un Certain Regard section premiered the film When the Light Breaks by Runar Runarsson. Cannes Classics also premiered a feature-length documentary film on Faye Dunaway by Laurent Bouzereau.
