There are many genres that engage the audiences and hook them to the screen and horror is one of them. But making it the just the right amount of scary is not an easy feat and many seem to have failed in the past. Netflix India has entered into the same and released its latest horror flick, Betaal. A series talking about a zombie invasion with a group of paramilitary task force fighting against the same, it takes the audiences on a thrilling ride. Stuck between the task force and the zombies, who are the dead Britishers who come back to get done with some unfinished business from the past, is the villagers termed to be Naxals who are forced to live away from the rest of the villages. The series that features an amazing cast starring Viineet Kumar, Aahana Kumra, Jitendra Joshi, Suchitra Pillai was able to get the audiences talking.
The creator of the show Patrick Graham has also created some of the other Netflix series like Ghoul, Bard Of Blood and Get Out. However, there has been mixed review ever since the show was released on the streaming site, Netflix India. People took to Twitter to share their reviews of the show.

I just started watching betal @NetflixIndia , I think its slow running series after watching 3 episode. Some more thirller and horror plot should be there. Rating -- 2.5#BetaalReview @netflix @NetflixIndia #betal

My brain cells died a gory death today. #BetaalReview story didn't have holes but potholes, size of craters. Characters were unconvincing n as logical as a naive gal in B-grade 80s horror movie. That Dolby won't help if the basics aren't good. Waste of talent @NetflixIndia

Creator Patrick Graham has shown his mettle again after Ghoul! Brining in blood thirsty zombies and merging it with Indian horror! @RedChilliesEnt @_GauravVerma @jason_blum
Kudos to you for backing up this project! One word Brilliant! ??❤️
Trailer was good .... But honestly saying #Betaal lost it completely. So much illogical writing, still somehow actors performed well but @NetflixIndia , This one is really disappointing #BetaalReview @ItsViineetKumar @AahanaKumra

#BetaalOnNetflix uses a cross between ordinary humans and the world of traditional folklore to create effective engagement & thrills. The visuals, atmosphere, cinematography & theme will remind you of #Tumbbad, especially the tunnel & hastar. A good watch! Ep.1 of #BetaalReview pic.twitter.com/NUoRz8Do2k

Brilliant idea, very poorly executed. I feel sorry for the writers.#BetaalOnNetflix
Betaal tried to be unique but ended up as a mediocre horror/Zombie affair, Episode 1 & 2 is Fantastic as story & execution was very powerful but crashed in Ep 3 & 4 which turns out to be boring and less engaging, confused screenplay "AVERAGE"

Betaal season 1 is a Zombie-Thriller series and it's amazing and visually stunning. Very gripping as well with Great Production Design.

Betaal is very pathetic. Thumbs down to story and direction. A very stupid plot. No where near it’s contemporary Paatal Lok.#Betaal #BetaalReview #BetaalOnNetflix @iamsrk

#BetaalReview watchable - not so scary as expected from the trailer- engaging- good thing is that the story ends but also a hook is provided for next season — but not so exciting to wait for next season @netflix @RedChilliesEnt
