Mumbai Sunsets

Ditch clubs and pubs. Mumbai’s sunset is an alternative to intoxication and DJs. Take a person to see the sunset, and he finds his inner monk coming out, in the form of wise philosophies of life. Of all the things that Mumbai is famous for, it’s also known for another wonder of nature; SUNSET!

Tell a Mumbaikar to see the sunset, and he won’t refuse.

Why?

Because sunsets in Mumbai ARE DIFFERENT! Just like monsoons in Mumbai.
So let us introduce you to the BEST SUNSET SPOTS IN MUMBAI.

  1. MARINE DRIVE, MUMBAI

The “Heart” of sunset is here! Just spend about 10 minutes here, soak in the sunset vibe, and you’ll not want to make a move away!

  1. DADAR CHOWPATTY

Surround yourself with the freshness of Coconut Trees, kids playing around, families enjoying a beach stroll, and of course, the sunset with a “sea-link” view!

  1. JUHU BEACH

The best thing about sunset at Juhu Beach is that after the sun says goodbye, you can walk over to the famous Pav Bhaji and Gola stalls at the beach!

We are by no means at a level in photography that Nat Geo photographers are, but Nat Geo is celebrating 100 million followers and doing a #natgeo100contest and picking a winner to travel to Tanzania. I aspire to someday move people with images the way that some of their photographers are capable of... Anyways, these 3 images, taken on Juhu beach in Mumbai are probably some of my more powerful images. The children in Mumbai may live a very different life from most American children, but to see them on the beach at play reminds me how similar we really are. . . . . . . . #mumbai #juhubeach #india_gram #documentaryphoto #mumbaigram #natgeotravelindia #juhubeachmumbai #sunset_hunter #cricket? #childsplay

  1. BHUIGAON BEACH, VASAI

This suggestion might sound a bit off, but believe me, Bhuigaon beach is a perfect place to take you away from the city hustles. YOU CAN LITERALLY HEAR THE WAVES.

Pro tip: Photographers, this is one good spot for show-off your camera skills.

  1. KALAMB BEACH, NALASOPARA

Even better! Take off your bike and ride along the sands and water, while seeing the sun going down. Also, this beach is cleaner and the air feels fresher.

Pro tip: Another good spot for photographers!

  1. CARTER ROAD, BANDRA

The skies look more beautiful from this place, while the sun sets. You might as well get to see some live music performances.

Moral: SUNSET + MUSIC = HEAVEN ON EARTH!

  1. POWAI LAKE, POWAI.

Go anywhere in Powai, and it feels like you have come to a city abroad. Powai is beautiful in its own, and so are the sunsets from here! What’s more interesting is that you can witness the citylights and a small light show near the lake.

  1. BANDRA FORT, BANDRA

Another hotspot of Bandra. The sea-link view, the gushing waters, the giggles and laughs of the young “Bandra”ites and the sunset. THIS FEELING DOESN’T NEED FURTHER DESCRIPTION.

9. GLOBAL VIPASANA PAGODA, GORAI

Where there is peace, there is a beauty! Gorai is one of the most pristinely beautiful places, whether it’s sunrise or sunset. Wait for a ferry during sunset, and get glowed by this view. The sunset at this spot will stick to your mind and awe you every time.
