The month of June is celebrated as #Pride month all over as a way to symbolize that the members of the LGBTQ+ community are equal and that ‘Love is Love’. Another positive step towards this movement of their equality has finally been taken.
A few activists have initiated ‘Vividh’, a job fair for the queer community; and not just them, it is also for people with disabilities, acid attack survivors, etc. According to News 18, Praful Baweja (co-founder) said, “Ever since the decriminalization of Section 377, the question was, 'what next?' What can we do to further strengthen vulnerable groups and communities?” The question raised by him is quite pertinent and relevant and was probably revolving around everyone’s head. Hopefully, this LGBTQ+ job fair would prove to be one of the solutions.

It is not unknown that in the corporate world, people of the queer community usually face discrimination and many times are not even offered the job even if they’re qualified. With this LGBTQ+ job fair, many companies would take a step forward towards diversifying their employee base and making a statement that they believe in talent and not sexuality when it comes to recruitment.
As of now, Vividh is set to be held on July 28, 2019, in Mumbai and we hope this is the first of many to come!
