Netflix's Mission Majnu premiered on January 20 and mot of the Janta was mainly skeptical about this one!
Mission Majnu is yet another spy thriller based on fictional events directed by Shantanu Bagchi and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, Amar Butala, and Garima Mehta. Starring Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna, Parmeet Sethi, Sharib Hashmi, Mir Sarwar, Kumud Mishra, Ashwath Bhatt, Zakir Hussain, Rajit Kapur, and Avijit Dutt, this film is written by Aseem Arrora.
Mission Majnu is a story about India's covert mission taking place before and during the IndoPak War in 1971. Set in the 1970s, Sidharth's character, Tariq is an undercover spy who takes on a deadly mission to expose a covert nuclear weapon program in the heart of Pakistan. Rashmika Mandanna plays a simple girl (Nasreen Hussain) from Pakistan who falls in love with Tariq. A typical love story with Rashmika being the love interest, the rest of the film deals with how Tariq finds the secret location to the covert nuclear weapon program and covers his journey of saving India from Pakistan's plan.
The Janta was pissed at the makers of the film over the absurd portrayal of Pakistan. While some places were not named properly, India was also not marked correctly on the map which left the Janta feeling displeased. While most of the Janta was infuriated over this, some appreciated Sidharth's acting and how far he has come.

When was the first time that codes, and cyphers were used in espionage? At least WW1?
and yet agents and double agents in #MissionMajnuOnNetflix are providing direct core intelligence across analog tapable telephone lines 🤦🤦— Unberryin Heather (@ambreenhaider01) January 22, 2023
Friends made me sit through this movie called "Mission Majnu". I mean such a crap and clichéd portrayal of pakistanis lol. Bollywood had totally lost their shit. No one in Pakistan acts or to the least does 'Aadab' like that. 🤣🤣 #MissionMajnuOnNetflix
