Thalapathy Vijay's film Master released in theatres on the 13th of January, it also stars Vijay Sethupathi. Look at the Master reviews that are coming in.
The first major theatrical release of 2021 in Tamil cinema is Thalapathy Vijay's film Master, also starring Vijay Sethupathi. Master released in theatres on January 13, ahead of the festive occasion of Pongal, and here are the Master reviews.
According to the box office, the film Master seems to be looking strong even in these still troubling times, when most films are still being released digitally on over-the-top (OTT) platforms before their theatrical release.
In Master, Thalapathy as John Durairaj aka JD plays the role of a young professor who is sent to a juvenile home to teach children for a period of 3 months, but he is addicted to alcohol. Inside the juvenile home his clash with a deadly gangster, played by Vijay Sethupathi forms the crux of the film. As the latter (Sethupathi), who owns the juvenile home uses children for illegal activities.
The film was slated to be released 10 months before on April 9th, 2020 but because of the pandemic, the release was postponed. The action-entertainer is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and has suffered the tragedy of being leaked online. It has been leaked on Telegram and other piracy based websites just a couple of days before the film's release. This disheartened the fans but the blockbuster opening on the first-day release of the film has made-up for the tragedy. The earnings of the film so far also tell us that the people are liking and enjoying this film and want to come back to theatres to revel in the joy of watching on a 70-mm screen.
