Masoom Minawala: This year's Cannes and India Pavilion gave the world a glimpse of how we are the land of storytellers through our fashion, art, and cinematic experiences

Every year, Cannes Film Festival hosts celebrities and fashion influencers across the globe. As they walk the red carpet. Set on French Riviera, the event holds importance for Film and Fashion Industry with attendees putting the best fashion forward. A lot of Indian celebrities and representatives also grace the event and one such leaving her mark on the town is Masoom Minawala, the global fashion content creator.

Masoom attended the Cannes Film Festival for the third time in a row, and each year she has been ruling the Internet with the looks and content she is creating at the festival. From walking the red carpet for several brands to wearing Global and Indian Designers, this year she notched higher with her win as ‘Most Authentic Fashion Influencer’ by WIBA at Cannes.

Speaking to us from the festival, Masoom shares her experiences of attending the festival and sheds light on the outfits she wore for one of the prestigious events.

Talking about the experience of representing India on a global forum, she mentioned, “It has always been a pleasure to represent India at the Cannes Film Festival but this time it definitely was really special. Not only because India was being celebrated as the country of honour but also because this year saw a lot of my fellow Indian content creators attend this prestigious event. All in all, this year's Cannes and India Pavilion gave the world a glimpse of how we are the land of storytellers through our fashion, art, and cinematic experiences.”

Witnessing India being recognized as the land of storytellers and getting the much-needed cinematic and cultural recognition was honestly one of the most important highlights in my Cannes journey.” Masoom continued.

Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, Masoom wore Yousef Akbar and Swarovski for her first Red Carpet look. She highlighted that she has worn a mix of Indian, European, and Middle Eastern designers that were in sync with her style. For her second red carpet look, she wore a floral Sophie Couture gown with Tyaani By Karan Johar’s jewellery.

Masoom also wore the iconic pink Valentino on her Day 1 and Amit Aggarwal ensemble for India Pavilion.

You can expect a lot of experimentation because it’s an extension to my personal style. Most of my outfits are pushing me out of my comfort zone in some way or the other and I’m extremely grateful for that.”, she mentioned.

Talking about prepping for the Cannes this year, she talked about prepping for over two months. “My team and I started prepping at least two months in advance this year. Even though we started reaching out to designers early on, for the first time in three years the red carpet gown reached me 2 hours prior to the big day, I literally tried it for the first time at the red carpet!”
