Masoom starring Boman Irani released on Disney+Hotstar on June 17. Let's find out the Janta's review on the crime drama!
Masoom is adapted from the Irish psychological thriller Blood created by Sophie Petzal. The six-episode series is a story about a dysfunctional family and the lies the members tell each other, proving that no family is just black and white, we all have a side of grey to us. Masoom is directed by Mihir Desai and written by Satyam Tripathi. Boman Irani makes his OTT debut with this show and garners the role of Dr. Balraj Kapoor, who runs a nursing home named after his wife. Upasana Singh, who has perpetually made us laugh on The Kapil Sharma Show, portrays the character of Gunwant, Balraj's wife and we get to see her in a never seen before serious avatar. Then comes Samara Tijori, who plays Sana Kapoor, the couple's youngest child who has been away from home for years because of a disturbing incident she witnessed in her family as a child. She has two elder siblings, Sanjana played by Manjari Fadnis and Sanjeev played by Veer Rajwant Singh.
Set in Punjab, the series revolves around Gunwant's death which Dr. Balraj Kapoor firmly assures was because she accidentally fell off the bed but their daughter Sana is convinced that her mother's death is not accidental but an intentional one. She wants to get to the root cause of the problem and wants to find out who is actually responsible for the murder and due to her estranged relationships with her family, her instincts strongly point toward her father. Each member of the family is hiding something from one another and uncovering this legacy of lies with unexpected twists is what Masoom is all about.
