Fashion influencers Ruopofu Whiso, Nidhi and Kaniz Syed talk about the experience of being part of the LFWxFDCI Creators Program 2023.
Fashion Week is an amazing place for people who love the world of fashion. Getting to witness the incredible talents and their exquisite collections that end up being the trends of the season, these fashion events never fail to disappoint. The latest fashion event that everyone had their eyes on was LakmΓ© Fashion Week which was held in Mumbai. Apart from an ensemble of amazing designers and jaw-dropping designs, one thing that caught everyone's eye was their Creator Program. Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) launched the LFW x FDCI Creators Program which aims to provide a platform to young, upcoming fashion bloggers and enthusiasts.
There were an array of creators present who had the opportunity to witness the event, collections and behind-the-scenes of the fashion world. They covered the event across all four days and some even walked the ramp checking a box off their wish list. To know more about the program we talked to Fashion influencers, Ruopofu, Nidhi and Kaniz Syed and they gave us a rundown!
Here's what they had to share about the LFW x FDCI Creators Program
What was the Lakmeβs Creator program all about? Can you elaborate a bit?
Nidhi mentioned that the program was for all the influencers from pan India who want to participate and come to Lakme Fashion Week. "These influencers had to create a Reel that captured all the fashion elements that explain what fashion is, how you are carrying yourself, your personality, all of it."
For Ruopofu, it was about connecting people from across India who haven't had the chance of maybe being in Lakme Fashion Week and giving them that opportunity and place to meet people and also learn about what goes behind the camera, stage, and more. "You don't always get to see what goes behind and it is amazing. So it is something that I enjoyed and of course, I had the chance to meet new people. For me, that is like the most important thing as a creator is to get more experience"
Can you tell us a bit about your LFW experience?
Kaniz would like to thank Risen and FDCI for giving her the opportunity as a creator to come and especially cover the entire event for fashion week. "Usually, we see a lot of glamour but I think as a creator I have been able to share what hard work goes behind these events with my audience. It is not as easy as it looks. I was able to show all the backstage craziness, and the hard work of the designers, and their interns. So that was a very different experience for me and I hope my audience loved that."
This was Ruopofu's first Lakme Fashion Week, so she had no idea what to expect. "But I think as a creator when I got to 'sit and watch the whole show in person it was amazing. As the four days went by I got to meet the designers, be backstage and more it was pretty amazing actually." As the days went by, Nidhi got better. It was an excellent experience for her since she got to be with a lot of known faces, plus it is a very good chance for networking. "I am associated with a lot of brands and I had the chance to meet more. So networking with these brands, knowing we can work with them together and understanding about what are the future opportunities."
What was your favourite show?
According to Nidhi, Sejal Kamta and Mahima Mahajan had the best show. "Yesterday there was Avani was fantastic, according to me."
How was your ramp experience?
Walking the ramp was very overwhelming for Kaniz. "Mostly because I was nervous but also excited at the same time. I got into the mood and was really feeling confident in what I was wearing. After that it was a cake walk."
What were the fashion trends you witnessed outside the ramp?
Ruopofu thinks one of the most witnessed trends would be crochet. "I think they are pretty cool and saw many incorporate them in different colours, different styles, and more. It's what I would want for myself."
Nidhi thinks the most common trend has been loose pants and crop tops, plus bold colours and that includes her too. "I have been wearing bold colours for all three days. Today I am wearing Mandira and I wore Sejal K in the morning. Otherwise going by my fashion I only wore neon green, neon orange and all the neon colours. Apart from that I have also seen people wearing a lot of neon."
Kaniz also saw a lot of print on prints. "Apart from that, I was wearing a corset and a cod hat and I loved how it made me stand out. It was also a take away that I never imagined I could carry, but I did."
