The result of the internet’s magic, this indie song has been playing on our feeds ever since it was first released. People have been making videos, singing, dancing and trying to learn the lyrics to this song by Sai Abhyankkar and Sai Smriti. Here's what she had to share!

Born in a house of doctors, how did your journey as an actress begin? What made you choose life as an entertainer?

Growing up in a family of doctors, the expectation was always to excel in academics. However, my passion for dance and performing arts led me down a different path. I was driven by my love for storytelling and performance. While engineering was my academic pursuit, my heart was always in the arts. So I began with Bharatanatyam and eventually explored hip-hop and other dance forms. This opened doors to modeling and, eventually, acting. After several successful stints in dance and modeling, I realized acting was a natural progression. It felt like the perfect medium to express my creativity and discover myself. My family has been incredibly supportive throughout this unconventional journey.

Aasa Kooda has been the biggest hit of the season! How did you become a part of the song and do people recognize you from it?

Being a part of Aasa Kooda was an incredible experience. I was approached by the team, and I immediately loved the concept and the music. The song's success has been overwhelming, and it's heartwarming to see people recognizing and appreciating my work. It’s truly been a career-defining moment.

Can you share any behind-the-scenes stories or challenges you faced while creating the song?

Filming this song was both challenging and fun. The entire song was shot over two consecutive nights. Due to my other commitments, the schedule was meticulously planned with no allowance for delays or experimentation. Despite the unforeseen challenges that often arise on sets, the team remained steadfast in their efforts, enabling us to complete just in time. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support and cooperation of my team, for which I’m really grateful. And their enthusiasm made the process enjoyable despite the hurdles.

Did you imagine it would go viral? Has this pan-India moment had an impact on you as an actress?

I never imagined it to go viral to this extent. The song’s popularity has definitely boosted my confidence and visibility as an actress. I now feel like I have a small place in this industry, which is a huge step for me as a newcomer and an outsider. It’s opened up many opportunities and has given me a sense of responsibility towards doing good work.

As an actress, what does this social media virality mean? How do you think social media plays out in the entertainment industry?

Social media virality is a double-edged sword. It offers instant recognition and a platform to connect with a global audience, but it also comes with immense scrutiny. For the entertainment industry, it’s a powerful tool for promotion and engagement. It allows actors to build a personal brand and interact directly with fans.

You're working on Kannappa alongside popular names in the industry like Prabhas. What was it like to be working with them? What can people expect from your character?

Working on Kannappa has been an enriching experience. Collaborating with global stars like Prabhas and various other seasoned actors has been an incredible learning curve. My character is pivotal and adds a unique dimension to the storyline. I have strived to give a powerful performance, with the help of an intriguing narrative that weaves together various elements beautifully.

What's in store for you in the near future?

I have a few exciting projects in the pipeline in Tamil, Malayalam and a major Telugu release that I’m thrilled about. Each project offers a different challenge and an opportunity to explore diverse roles. I can’t wait for the audience to see what we have in store.
