Kismat Ke Dhaage

This is a Karan Sareen stan account for capturing the true essence of Indian daily soaps with his Kismat Ke Dhaage series.

Sure, we have turned into a generation that's taking mental health seriously and healing, career-driven, playing videos games even in their 30s, and dodging life between Netflix, Prime, and Disney plus without regrets. But one thing that we continue to enjoy in life is drama, no matter what form it comes in, and content creator, Karan Sareen understands that. His mini-drama series on Reels ’Kismat Ke Dhaage Kisse Ja Uljhe’ is a prime example.

Our choices, way of living, and preferences when it comes to entertainment are quite different from when our parents were our age. Despite the lack of OTT platforms growing up, entertainment was never scarce. Movies will always be a part of the list, but nothing can beat the family ritual of sitting in front of the television to watch all the Indian dramas. From saving the diya from burning out to watching a huge family being introduced, we grew up watching over-the-top dramas with a side of hamming and enjoyed them. Once we grew up, we were introduced to more close to reality series with limited episodes and seasons but no matter how popular these OTT platforms become, TV will always be part of Indian households.

Our lifestyle is just proof of how different we are from our parents. But we always come home to them watching StarPlus, Colors, or ZeeTv shifting between them to watch the same old drama stories said in different languages. And for some reason, these stories keep getting weird and yet our family loves watching them. We have seen people turning into snakes and flies all in the need for revenge. No matter what the setup is, the primary storyline remains the same. And Karan Sareen sets it up perfectly in his own parody of Indian daily soap ’Kismat Ke Dhaage Kisse Ja Uljhe.’

We have the sabhya, sushil heroine who belongs to a middle-class family, in Karan’s world, Khushi! She is beautiful, prayers regularly, and has recently landed a job. On her way to her new job, she has to confront a rich, spoilt brat driving an expensive car. Guess what, this guy also happens to be Khushi’s new boss Rudra that she is yet to discover. And how can we forget Mummyji who is all praise for the apple of her eye son? She is on the lookout for a wife for her son, correction, a girl from a rich family that matches their ’status.’ Playing the rich, ’modern’ girl eager to marry Rudra and become a part of the Singhania family is Shalakha, who, spoiler alert, is the vamp who will make it difficult for Khushi and Rudra to end up in love. Which they will no matter what.

Although Karan dresses up to play all the main parts, he has also collaborated with other creators like Ankush Bahuguna and Aaron Koul. So far Karan has released 16 episodes of this mini-drama series on his Instagram and it is far better than all the daily soaps combined. If you're tired of your family’s TV time too then you should check out this series. We made a list of a few episodes and you can watch the complete series on his page because we don’t want to spoil your fun.
