As the country witnesses one of the worst tragedies in recent times, a tragedy that has shaken the faith in humanity for millions of people, Bollywood has finally shown the courage to demand Justice For Asifa.
A beautiful young child, smothered, beaten, raped by monsters, the unspeakable horrors that Asifa went through, has united not just Indians, but people all over the world as the outrage and voices rise against an establishment that is afraid to prosecute the culprits of this heinous crime. Twitter has been overwhelmed by the voices that demand Justice For Asifa, as not only the common people, but even influential personalities uniting under one voice, the voice for empathy.
Bollywood has been at the receiving end of a plethora of criticisms for not speaking up on issues that plague the rest of the country, but what transpired in Kathua, Jammu earlier this year was tough to ignore.

Outspoken and frequent dissenters from Bollywood as Richa Chadha, Farhan Akhtar and journalists Sagarika Ghose, Barkha Dutt have been accompanied by many more horrified celebrties when it comes to helping mount the pressure on the government to prosecute the 8 accused who sedated, beat, raped and killed an innocent 8 year old child.
It’s moments like this when a clear choice must be made.

We can come together as a people to protect the lives and rights of our women & children
OR
We can allow people to put personal agendas above law & humanity

How many more children like baby Asifa will be sacrificed at the intersect of religion & politics? How many more children will have to suffer unimaginable crimes before we wake up? I’m disgusted. It’s time for swift action. We owe it to Asifa and to humanity. #justiceforAsifa.

To starve, drug, rape and then murder an 8 year old child. Can’t believe this has happened. Sounds horrifying but imagine her horror when she went through it all. #JusticeforAsifa

I have had numerous people accuse me of being anti-Hindu for discussing the rape and murder of a child in Kashmir. She was held in a temple for days while she was raped. Maybe we need to rethink who is anti-Hindu here. https://t.co/ZSTtakMYLN #JusticeforAsifa

Filled with so much anger and disgust over what has happened with Asifa. Only demons would inflict cruelty like this on an 8 year old. Pray for her soul, fight for #JusticeForAsifa. These atrocities need to end and it needs to end now.

Shame. Shame on us for letting religious & political issues come in the way of humanity. Shame on us for waking up to this heinous crime months later, after international media has highlighted it. Shame on us for not being able to protect the girls of our country. #JusticeForAsifa

Imagine this innocent 8-year old child.
Shrieking.
Crying as rapists mount her, one after the other.
Over days.
Starved.
Drugged.
Can you feel her terror?
Hear her dying sobs?
Now imagine she’s your daughter.
Will you speak up for her?#JusticeForAsifa pic.twitter.com/cvamtaVMVk
The BJP in Jammu may have been exposed its communal colours by 'defending' the rape accused but why is Congress party not raising its voice either? Or is their relative silence also a case of surrendering to Hindu extremists? What matters more:justice or votes? #JusticeforAsifa
— Rajdeep Sardesai (@sardesairajdeep) April 11, 2018
It is heartning to see #Jammu Chamber of Commerce an Industry not supporting the bandh call given by Bar Asociation Jammu for pressing d demand to handover #JusticeforAsifa case to CBI. JCCI president Rakesh Gupta has shown maturity/ sense of responsibility. Must be apprecaited.
