Jayeshbhai Jordaar starring Ranveer Singh, Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani, and Ratna Pathak Shah released at the cinemas on May 13. Let's find out how the janta felt after watching the film!
In an era where girls are running the world and making their impact in every field possible, there are still regressive communities that look at girls as liabilities and boys as assets. Jayeshbhai Jordaar highlights this alarming issue and tries its best to pass along the message wrapped in a hilarious format. The movie is produced by Yash Raj Films and directed by debutant Divyang Thakkar. Ranveer Singh plays the protagonist of the film, Jayesh bhai, a happy-go-lucky family guy who has to walk on eggshells around his strict father, Pruthvish (Boman Irani), who is also the narrow-minded village sarpanch, and his mother, Jashoda (Ratna Pathak Shah), who would pray at length to give them a grandson. Jayesh and his wife, Mudra (Shalini Pandey) are already raising their girl child, Siddhi (Jia Vaidya) in a town where being born a girl is an embarrassment. So the sarpanch's son having another girl child is completely intolerable to the society, especially when he's expected to take over the village as his father did.
So what do Jayesh and Mudra do when they find out they're expecting another baby girl? With no doubts in mind, they flee to save her from the wrath of a community that wants her aborted illegally. The journey shows the expecting parents along with their first daughter liberating themselves and the rest of the women in their village by banning female feticide. The trio carries the film on their shoulders and Ranveer Singh delivers some humorous punchlines to make the film a bit light-hearted as well.
Here's how the janta reacted!
