Devara Part 1 starring Jr. NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan released on the big screens on September 27 and here’s what the Janta thought of the film!
Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara Part 1 revolves around four clans from four different villages. They worship tools as their god and get into battle in order to win those tools so that they are blessed for that particular year. In the middle of it all is Devara, played by Jr. NTR who is the strongest man in all the four villages, the one everybody listens to. However, because of a traumatic incident when he finds himself at loggerheads with Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), the real conflict in the film begins. We also see Janhvi Kapoor in the film as Thangam, who is the love interest of Devara’s son Vara, a double played by the actor himself.
But the Janta does not seem to be impressed by the film at all. While the first half was average enough for them, most felt that the film completely dipped in the second half. The screenplay felt rather stretched and many viewers felt like the story did not need a second part at all. The only highlights of the movie were Anirudh Ravichander’s background score, the dance sequences and Jr. NTR’s acting. But even after having such a star-studded cast, the Janta felt they weren’t used to their full potential!

Fell short of expectations. The first half is good, but Climax let me down. Editing, screenplay, and storytelling are weak and it feels like director lacked passion in some scenes. The only best thing is BGM. Jr. NTR and Saif looked good, but I expected more pic.twitter.com/ecAR0jl4lI
#Devara 1st half picks up after initial setup.

Ayudha Pooja, Fear Song, Bit song on screen 💥💥
Interval Fight Sequence 🔥🔥
Couple of episodes over sea are good.
Second half could have been better.
Although Chuttamalle song and Fight sequences are very good in 2nd half.
(1/2)
#Devara : DEVARA : Part 1 : This one's a solid action entertainer. Jr NTR's knockout performance, Anirudh's wonderful BGM and some whistle worthy action sequences keep you hooked. It's worth a watch 👍🏻 #DevaraReview

⭐️⭐️½#Devara is a MISSED OPPORTUNITY for the makers. Weak writing and avg execution undercut its potential. Anirudh’s music shines, followed by impressive action and a powerful performance from #jrNTR. Decent 1st half, 2nd half falters cos of poor direction.
DEVARA: PART 1: it's...fine? First half is solid with some great sequences, but it loses momentum in the second half with some very scattered writing and pacing. Still, NTR is great in it, so is Saif Ali Khan, the action is fun and the music is good. I'll see Part 2! #Devara pic.twitter.com/UM7Q5mc3pj

#Devara - decent first half and below par second half. Even though there were so many action scenes, most of them were flat without any excitement. Felt this story could have been wrapped up in 1 part which could have made second half more interesting. Part 2 was not needed.

#Devara Part 1 is heartbreaking.

There is a lot of good with a lot of mediocre and way lot of Bad! The narrative had so much potential but what we get is a watered down forcefully massified below avg film.
It may satisfy some but that means the standard is too low pic.twitter.com/O1O6EQZkZO
#DevaraPart1 - 1.5/5

Pucca Roast material it is! An overlong mess of a film with template script, predictable bland screenplay & unintentionally funny surreal sequences altogether makes it a complete borefest. Sequel alert at the end is further terrifying!
Verdict: Disaster. pic.twitter.com/z2003sXTjG
#Devara 1st Half is flat and predictable. Not engaging and felt a bit boring. The story is usual and no high moments elevating the hero. BGM is good. Heroine is not introduced yet 😂 pic.twitter.com/ZYJZDsnYg8

Movie was flat for most of the second half.
NTR Jr. carried the entire first half. pic.twitter.com/zSl1JoHwJj
