If you are exhausted from doom scrolling, then according to this new trend, cracking your dopamine menu might help prioritize your mental well-being. Here's what we know!

When we scroll on the internet, we may not always realize that we are getting carried away by a lot of stuff people do and depict on the internet. It's only natural for people to end up having FOMO when they see good and happy things happening to others on the internet. Well, if you feel like you fit the description, then maybe it is time for you to curate your very own Dopamine Menu. A trend that has attracted the attention of all internet users, is proving to be quite a useful tip for people in finding happiness between incessantly doom-scrolling on their phones.

What is a Dopamine Menu?

A Dopamine Menu sounds like a full course menu but is trend divided into different portions of activities that help to enhance dopamine levels. This trend became viral after TikTok creator Payton Sartain shared her own menu with a voiceover that said, "I recently discovered the concept of a 'dopamine menu' which is basically your go-to list of things you can do to feel good throughout your day, so you don't default to doom scrolling on social media." This has since been used by multiple other creators to share their menus online.

What does it include?

The Dopamine Menu consists of starters where users have to do very quick and short activities. It could be things like petting your dog, having a snack, or listening to your favorite song. Then we move on to the mains which take more time like painting, journaling, baking, and more. The sides are activities you could do alongside other major tasks that you had planned to do. The desserts consist of activities which you indulge in once in a while like watching TV and checking your social media. The specials are things that are not always available but feel good to try. It could include booking a trip, a concert, or an appointment at the salon to get your nails done.

While the Dopamine Menu trend has been going around for a long time, it has recently been picked up by the creators with them sharing their versions of it. The trend is surely proof of the fact that we can indulge ourselves in different kinds of things and find happiness in those little things and it can be without the use of social media in our daily lives.
