We're surrounded by mother nature and its innumerable wonders. We love and appreciate the beauty and often create Instagram-worthy posts with it. But what humans often forget is that their actions have consequences, if not on them then on the wildlife and nature that surrounds them.
It was in 2006 that the grave reduction in the number of Tigers in India was brought to everyone's notice. With only 1411 Tigers left in India, it became a cause for concern for the entire nation. It was then that the government undertook various measures to protect the remaining Tigers and increase the population of the magnificent creatures. It was in 2014 that the numbers came up to 2,226. With continued efforts, a greater target was achieved in the last few years as well. Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi announced the increase in the total population of Tigers in India and it is rather positive news.
Here's what PM Narendra Modi announced:
A commitment fulfilled, that too well in advance!
