Over the years, songs by KK became a solace for an entire generation, and even after his sudden heartbreaking demise, his voice is something that we'll always find comfort in.
In the late hours of Tuesday night, one of the music industry's biggest gems, KK (Krishnakumar Kunnath) left the whole country shook after his unexpected demise. The playback singer fell ill after his concert in Kolkata and passed away due to a massive cardiac arrest. The unfortunate news had the whole country in despair and left a major void in our hearts. His soulful voice captured the imagination of the youth, coming-of-age, and breathed life into songs, and the lyrics that resonated with millions of hearts. School farewells, college graduations, the feeling of falling in love, heartbreaks, road trips, and parties, were all incomplete without the songs by KK which often played pivotal chapters in our life.
We come across hundreds of artists in our lifetime but there are very few that leave an impact on us through their body of work as KK did. He was considered to be a bridge between Kumar Sahnu's phase to Arjit Singh's phase. born in Delhi he was not just a musician but a storyteller who combined the art of indie and commercial. But before a career in films that span over up to almost 3 decade-long giving us more than 500 songs to cherish forever, he worked on 3000 jingles. So many 90s and early 2000s kids who grew up listening to KK on devices that kept on evolving have deep memories attached to his songs. But today it feels somewhere our childhood is lost because the rock that expressed our feelings through his melodious wholesomeness has left us.
Although it would be difficult to narrow down his phenomenal discography into a few songs, here's a small tribute from us through a list of his iconic songs that we'll never stop playing.
